Our story
In 2017, my family’s world was turned upside down when the most destructive wildfire in California history destroyed our home. With nothing but the clothes on our backs, we started a journey of rebuilding and recovery.
The road ahead was long and challenging, but the community came together to help in ways we never could have imagined. After a rocky start, we finally found a long-term rental, but it was empty and in desperate need of furnishings.
This is where Rebuildee comes in. We understand the struggle of putting a home back together after a disaster and we want to help. Rebuildee allows those affected by disaster to share their needs with friends and family, who can then crowdfund essential household items.
Big-ticket items like appliances and furniture can be split between multiple people, making the cost significantly more manageable. With Rebuildee, the community can come together to help those in need get what they need to make their house a home again.
Our mission now is to provide a holistic and equitable approach that bridges the gap between unmet needs and full recovery for those rebuilding their lives after disasters and other major life challenges. No one should go through a disaster alone, and we’re here to make sure they don’t.
